Congratulations to Teamsters Local 135 members at MonoSol in La Porte, Indiana who have voted to ratify a new agreement!
The contract covers nearly 200 members and includes pay increases, $6,000 signing bonuses, voluntary overtime, an increased health care plan through TeamCare, Juneteenth as a holiday, an additional week of vacation for years of service, much needed language to protect the members, and more!
Teamsters were united in their contract fight, picketing outside the company’s facility in the cold and snow over the course of a month-long lockout. They demanded the employer negotiate a fair contract and call off its lockout of workers. Local 135 members produce water-soluble packaging used by Procter & Gamble to make products like Tide and Cascade laundry detergent pods.
“These members have been gearing up for this fight for over two years. They stood strong, focused, and united, and I couldn’t be prouder of them during this process,” said Dustin Roach, Local 135 President-Elect. “Twenty-eight days is a long time, especially near the holidays, but they showed that solidarity matters and solidarity wins!”
